
If you are scheduled to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, have already completed both doses, or scheduled to receive a COVID-19 booster shot, you may be able to participate in a study to advance coronavirus research. In this study, your saliva and blood will be used in COVID-19 research to develop assays to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Financial compensation for participation is provided. Samples are collected within the Atlanta metro area and by appointment only. Sample collection may take up to 30 minutes.

To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
- Scheduled to receive an FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine or have already completed both vaccine doses
- 18 years or older
- Able to provide consent
- Weigh at least 110 pounds
- Fluent in English
You are not eligible to participate in this study if you are pregnant, have been previously diagnosed with COVID-19, or have any health problems that would interfere with the study or make it unsafe for you.

You will receive financial compensation for each completed visit. A completed visit means that all
three sample types (saliva, fingerstick blood, venipuncture blood) have been collected.
One visit
$200 (6 – 45 days after the last dose)
Two visits
First visit: $50 (within 2 weeks before the 1st dose)
Second visit: $275 (6 – 45 days after the last dose)
If you donate samples 6 – 10 days after the last dose, you may be eligible to donate samples
again 15 – 45 days after the last dose for an additional $150.00.
Three visits (for two-dose vaccines only)
First visit: $50 (within 2 weeks before the 1st dose)
Second visit: $50 (6 – 30 days after the 1st dose)
Third visit: $350 (6 – 45 days after the last dose)
If you donate samples 6 – 10 days after the 1st dose, you may be eligible donate samples again
15 – 30 days after the 1st dose for an additional $150.00.

Booster shots
First visit: $50 (within 2 weeks before the booster shot)
Second visit: $275 (6 – 15 days after the booster shot)
Participants will be financially compensated immediately after the samples are collected. Compensation will be in the form of cash or a check.
Appointments usually last 15 – 20 minutes, but may last as long as 30 minutes. During the first visit, a discussion reviewing the consent form will occur prior to sample collection, and the participant will be asked to sign the consent form.
You will only be financially compensated for the visits that you complete.
Saliva, fingerstick blood (5 – 10 drops), and venipuncture blood (4.7 tablespoons).
You will spit into two cups. Participants should drink at least 8 ounces of water 30 minutes – 1 hour before they arrive for their appointment. Participants should not drink other types of liquid < 1 hour before their scheduled appointment. Sample collection will take less than 5 minutes.

There are two types of blood samples for this study.
Fingerstick blood samples will be collected using a lancet, which is a small, needle-like object used to the prick the skin. (Lancets are commonly used by diabetic patients to collect blood for blood glucose monitors and glucose test strips.) 5 – 10 drops of blood will be collected. Sample collection will take 5 minutes.
Venipuncture blood samples will be collected by inserting a needle into the vein of the arm. A volume of 70 cc of blood will be collected. 70 cc is equal to 4.7 tablespoons. Sample collection will take 10 minutes.
